A Love Letter from LS

LaSource is a women’s bodywear brand specializing in exceptional bras, underwear, and sleepwear for the modern, original woman.  LaSource is both a retrospective and future-thinking meditation on the role and perception of women in society.  It looks to redefine the standards within the traditional Lingerie category through that lens.

While we, the women of today feel empowered more than ever before, we also feel a longing for a time – whether real or read in books – when women were honored for their unique beauty and talents and revered for the nurturing and bountiful gifts, they offered to those around them.   We are the source of life, the world’s nurturers and encouragers, and the ones who impart beauty to the home and public domain.

This is in contradiction to the imagery we consume through various channels – which seems to proliferate a standard of woman that is unattainable, hyper-sexual and designed for male consumption.  LaSource sets out to redefine how women view and partake in the enjoyment of beautiful bodywear by reminding those women of their divine feminine energy.  It seeks to empower in a more delicate way and looks to honor the magic and mystery of feminine life on earth.  Our power isn’t in being provocative, as much as it’s being the foundation and structure from which the human community is nourished.

In refocusing this view, we seek to not only help women see themselves in a new, but timeless light, but also help men and boys evolve the way they see the women they love and identify unhealthy consumption patterns of feminine imagery.

The name LaSource is a French iteration of "The Source".  This is a nod to women being the source of life, love, beauty and bounty (bounty in this instance meaning “generosity”).  The addition of the word “Love” to the web domain and packaging is intended to speak to the customer in a few ways:

First, the implication is that each of our customers is “LaSource” or The Source (whether they are unmarried, childless, with child, or have children)

Second, the directive is to “Love LaSource”.   We are saying to “Love Yourself” because you are The Source.

Third, you will see us close our communications with “Love, LS” as we are signing a love note from one “Source” to another “Source”.  Love, LaSource.  This is a concept similar to Namaste in yoga – I see the light in you, you see the light in me.

The colorways for the brand were designed to be reminiscent of the peach satin of a Ballerina’s pointe shoes coupled with blues of ocean, sky and the night.  The design for the logo and marks were inspired by the Art Deco of the 1920s which represented a period of rapid societal evolution for women.  We felt it apropos to lean into Art Deco, not only for its classic beauty, but that we are yet again, in the ‘20s and leaning into a new female evolution on the hundred-year cycle.

The symbolism of the art deco flowers, and sun motif play into the search to honor the feminine divine.  The sun is long-perceived as a symbol of vitality - necessary for warmth, growth and nurturing life on the planet – much like the role of women.

The flowers represent the blossoming life, delicacy, and beauty of LaSource.

LaSource is not demonstratively sexy, nor specifically intended for seduction.  We believe in supporting women in every facet of their lives and we believe that the recipe for universal connection and existence is love, light, water, nature, sky and stars.

Love,

LaSource
